For the first time, the Surf Ranch was announced to join the World Tour as a new venue. After analysing the results of a test event with the surfers and getting their feedback, this new event "has the potencial to be something special for both surfers and fans" said Sophie Goldschmidt, WSL CEO.

Bethany Hamilton x KS Surf Ranch

Bethany Hamilton visited Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch with her husband Adam and their son Tobias to experience surfing a man made wave
Being a goofy footer, she wanted to work on her backside barrel riding and one of the perks of surfing at the Surf Ranch is that you can get as many backside barrels as you want!
Her hability to adapt to any wave blows everyone away and her surf stoke is so contagious! See for yourself:

Surfer Girl of the Month - Felicity Palmateer

Felicity Palmateer aka Flick is a pro surfer from Western Australia. She is sponsored by Billabong since she was 14 and competed on the World Championship Tour in 2012. Here's what we love about her:

Bohemian bombshell. She lives a carefree lifestyle, traveling around the world in search for untouched paradisic beaches. From swimming with sting rays in Moorea to whales in Tahiti, she feels most comfortable when in the water. Travelling from place to place with the Billabong team all year round, she experiences the local foods, the different cultures of each location and gets to surf the best waves in clear tropical waters.

Ocean Lover. Taking every chance to raise awarness for environmental causes dedicated to ocean protection, Felicity uses her social media and art to spread her message. Travelling to eco-resorts, exploring the ocean and visiting marine animal rehabilitation centres, she is passionate about ocean conservation.

Talented Artist. Famous for her mandala watercolour paintings, she has been painting since a little girl influenced by her parents, who are also artists. You can see more about her artwork here: surfergirlsonly.blogspot.com/felicity-palmateers-artwork

Fearless surfer. In 2015 Felicity Palmateer surfed one of Australia's biggest waves, breaking records as a female Australian surfer. Growing up in Western Australia and with the support of her father, she quickly began getting the taste of surfing big waves at a young age.

Felicity Palmateer's Artwork

Felicity Palmateer is an Australian professional surfer. Her childhood consisted not only in surfing the south/west coast of Australia, but also in painting and drawing. With the great influence of both her parents, who are also artists, she has developed a natural talent for the Arts.

She gets most of her inspiration from the ocean. Painting in watercolours, the resemblance of waves is found in her artwork. Sea creatures such as whales and turtles are one of her favorite subjects to draw, but the mandalas are what has made her art so famous.
Flick, as she is also known, first started doodling mandalas when she was in school, as a way to pass the time. Today she can spend hours drawing mandalas, simply as a way of meditating.

As an artist and surfer, she personalizes her surfboards with her own artwork.

Being sponsored by Billabong since the age of 14, she recently collaborated with the brand to produce a range of beach essentials featuring her mandala drawings as the pattern theme.
